Mr. Alpert arrived at Hoboken Charter School in 2003 following five years of teaching experience at the middle school level.   While at HCS, he has focused his energies on Physics and Chemistry although his other duties at the school include coordinating state and national testing, authoring the annual report and other administrative duties.  He received the Hudson County Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Teaching in  2007 and is currently a nominee for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Yale University and holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Design and a Master of Science in Educational Technology from Ramapo State College.

Mr. Alpert became a certified teacher in New Jersey via the alternate route following a long career as a corporate architect for major international hotel companies where he traveled to over 35 countries around the world.  He holds a Permanent Certificate to teach Physical Science at the high school level and enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, computers, collecting old scientific machines and photography.
