Your notebook is the core for your study of science.
You will take notes, make drawings, do in class assignments and test your learning by means of this notebook.  It will become your path which will lead you to success in science.

It is "interactive" because you will be using it daily not only to take notes, but also to revise, supplement and extract key terms from  these notes.

You are to create a custom cover pasting a piece of white paper onto the existing black cover of the notebook.

The cover should be custom made, using at least four colors and should contain, the name of the course (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), your name and at least two drawings of the topics you will cover this year (see the syllabus for your course).

You are to number all the pages in the upper right hand corner of each page starting with page one on the first, right hand page in the notebook.
All left hand pages shall be even numbers, all right hand pages shall be odd numbers.

Pages one  and two should be labeled "INDEX" and divided into three columns.
At the top of the first column, write, "PAGES __ to ___".
At the top of the the second column, you are to write, "TOPIC",
At the top of the the third column write, "DATE",

The right hand pages are for input.  They are where you take daily notes on lectures, slide shows, videos, in class reading etc.

The left hand pages are where you process information (OUTPUT).  It will be the place where you gather information from your notes and use higher level thinking to help link ideas together.  It may also be the place for you to put key terms, draw diagrams etc. The left hand pages are also for pictures, diagrams, "t" charts and other visuals that will help  you understand the lesson.
